I have to say that the Burgers are absolutely the best ANYWHERE. Will always come back for the awesome MONSTERSMASH,and that sauce rocks, but whats up with the amout of fries? The bottom of the plate used to be full of fries, now a little hand full? |

We visit the region on a regular basis and came across the restaurant by accident. Restaurant was clean and the staff was super friendly which are both important to us. We all tried burgers and fries which were delicious. We will be back to try other things on the menu. |

BEST BURGER IN THE BUSINESS! I can say I will never go to shoops or five guys again. This was the best tasting burger and the staff was super friendly. Great job - keep up the good work. How about a location in Crown Point? I work in that area and would hit lunch there at least twice a week. Congrats on making this burger guy totally satisfied! |

Your new management team seems to be doing quite the job! Food was better than ever, restaurant was super clean and the new staff is doing better every time. My family and I were in town for a reunion. My friend Tim said we had to try it. I hadn't been back home in 16 yrs so I am new to Smashmouth.. Well let me tell u.. The Best Burger on Earth!!! It's been two days since our last visit and the family wants to make the drive back today just for Smash. Folks I never drive 30 miles just for a Burger but this is a smashmouth burger we are talking about. The best dam burger on EARTH!!!! Our family of five spent our Friday night all still talking about Smashmouth. We love it. Hope and pray they open a Smashmouth in Valpo. Come on Smash move out our way. |

Glad to know where the new location is. My son and I made it our business to try everything on the menu. We still have a few items to go, but we have yet to be disappointed. Everything is amazing! That brisket sandwich is da bomb! For family movie nights, we love to order buffalo wings, with the homemade potato chips and split an order of burgers.
I'm a gourmet pizza & gourmet burger snob. They're my favorite foods and I haven't found better than Smashmouth. At their former location, I was single-handedly trying to market their business to everyone I know and work with. Kudos! |

This is a perfectly balanced burger. Biting into it, you get the soft give of the pillowy bun followed by a touch of creamy richness from the sauce on your tongue cut with the fresh crunch of leaf lettuce from the top. Next, the textures reverse themselves, the tang of pickles and hot bite of grilled onion slashing through the richness of the sauce while your top teeth meet the hot, rich lavaburst of melted cheese. Finally, upper jaw and lower strike the beef, itself an exercise in textural contrast, the crisply seared crust giving way to juicy pockets of melted fat and gooey cheese that have managed to find their way into the welcomingly open-textured patty. Your teeth meet in the tender, beefy, ever-so-slightly pink center. It's glorious.

I was in for Lunch today. My co-worker has been telling me for a week now that I had to check Smashmouth out. Just let me say this. This guy has true passion for his craft. Food is out of this world. You will never eat better than this in NW Indiana I promise you. I bought a Smash Shirt and we took pizza to go for dinner. No Burger will ever live up to the Monster Smash!!! I left three hours ago and I'm still saying WOW out loud!!! |

Mini burgers or smash end up being the business. The staff is great and friendly, and this joint is clean as a whistle... Have at it people! Guys, good job and hope you are here for a long time. When we first walked in, it was seriously hard to decide what we wanted because quite frankly, EVERYTHING on the menu sounded so darn good. We ended up ordering the Tailgater's First Love (pizza) and the Chicken Caesar Salad, a SmashMouth Pork sandwich with fries and the South Beach Sub. Every member of our family was very impressed and really enjoyed our meals. The great thing about SmashMouth is that it is not like every other fast food place...the chef-Joe Arvin-has managed to work some magic by creating clever, innovative and delicious meals. He adds some really interesting and delicious twists and that is what sets Smashmouth apart from its contemporaries. The atmosphere is casual and comfortable while the presentation of our caesar salad rivaled that of some expensive restaurants in downtown Chicago, with a taste to match and beat! The pizzas were great, the pork made my son's mouth WATER and the SouthBeach sub's lime pesto mayo added a very delicious and unique twist, turning what could have been just an ordinary sub into one that was extraordinary! For desert (not that I had much room left!) I ordered a strawberry banana Smashin'Smoothie and we all split a brownie-both of which were great, and the brownie was melt-in-your-mouth good! We drove 40 minutes to come check this place out and we are already planning our next trip back! We can't wait to try the Smashburgers! This place is 5 Star+! Keep up the great work guys! |

Ive been to smashmouths twice for pizza, and it is some of the best in the area. The price even makes it more appetizing. I love the thin crispy crust, and to me the sauce is the boss when it comes to pizza, and there sauce is some of the best i've tasted. I can't wait until i have time to try the burgers. |

My husband and I have been real fans of Smashmouth since the first time we ate there. I actually surprised him on Valentine's Day and brought home his favorite burger...he was very happy!! I personally like the turkey sandwiches and soup. There really is something for everyone to enjoy at Smashmouth. If you have not tried it yet, make sure you get in there soon to see what you have been missing. |

If you do not know there Chef Joe Arvin it would be hard for to know just how good this guy is. I have worked and traveled with him across the country working food shows. Every time I see people taste his food they are simply amazed !! I know lots of Chefs. I am one myself but Joe has such a natural ability and passion for food it just cant be matched. He is one of the best. I would highly recommend you trying his place out. I promise you will be very glad you did. |

I stopped by on the way back from Ft Wayne after a long day working and got the Philly Cheese sandwich with fries. The sandwich was loaded with meat and the right amount of onions and cheese which made my day because it hit the spot. Friendly staff and good food, what else can you ask for. |

We've been to Smashmouth several times and have never been disappointed! I love the chicken sandwiches...the buns are superb!! I think they have a hint of garlic. At first when I read that the fries are seasoned with sea salt, I thought, oh great...not gonna like them! But, they are delicious!! And they give you so many!!! The staff has always been very friendly with us...almost to the point of feeling like family! I would recommend that everyone try them! You won't be disappointed! |

The Pizza gets a 10 out of 10 on my score card!!!! We sat and watched the bulls game on the big TV's. My sister got a chocoate brownie shake. She said it was better than baskin robins shakes.
The hot Chef came out to the Table and explained everything on the menu to us. We felt like rock stars the way the staff treated us. A+++. First class place with first class food. |

I just moved to crown point from Merrillville last October. I can't believe I waited this long to try these burgers out. I am by far a burger person. And I know what a good burger is supposed to taste like. Smashmouth has Great Burgers. I don't know what sauce they use but it's by far better than the usual mayo, ketchup and mustard. I'm so glad I'm only 5 min away from them. A+++ quality and very fast service. Can't Waite to try out there ribs |

My family has been eating at Smash Mouth about once a week since they opened. We've tried the beef sandwich, smash burgers with cheese, the fried PB&J, the smash chicken sandwiches and the fries. It's all been awesome! We plan on trying the pizza but just can't seem to get past the smash burgers with cheese most of the time. The beef sandwich isn't your typical beef. I'd say it has more of a bbq taste. we got it with mozzarella cheese and it was great! The bistro sauce they put on it is very tasty! We are never disappointed! We usually call our orders in and they are always ready when we get there. |

Yum, yum, yum! I actually tried Smash Mouth based on the reviews I saw here. I'm so glad I did! The burger was incredibly fresh (the owner said they grind their own angus beef). The bun is brushed with butter and then it's all put under a panini press. Plus, the fries are fresh cut. I saw someone order a shake, and that looked great too. Something I'll have to try next time. You can really tell the owner has a passion for his restaurant. He's super friendly and customer oriented. This is just what NWI needed. Forget McDonalds, Burger King, etc - this is the real deal! |

I am here to rate the barbeque sauce that is served on the pulled pork sandwich, however I will first rate Smashmouth as a whole. (Note: the rating I gave of 5 stars applies to Smashmouth as a whole.)
The Burgers at Smashmouth are easily deserving of a 4. The reason I gave them a 5 is because I took into account the fact of how amazingly refreshing they are when compared to the SAME OLD fast food places that overrun this town. I for one enjoy all these places such as Mcdonalds, Burger King, and Wendys, but they get so old after awhile. Not to mention that the burgers at Smashmouth could DEFTINITELY compete with them if they were a little less expensive. When I speak of their burgers, I am referring to the Monster Smash Burger that is Number 1 on their Value Meal Menu. The bistro sauce that comes on it is even good. And it remains good even when adding condiments, at least when it comes to ketchup. The burgers are very nice, and being someone who usually has a big appetite, they are filling and 1 is enough to fully satisfy. The fries, on the other hand are also really good. they are like the fries from Miner Dun, except slightly better. (Note: the fries from Miner Dun are perfectly fine and taste good.)
Now, the barbeque sauce. I give the barbeque sauce 5 stars. I especially love the tanginess. It is a very good recipe. I like how the flavor at the end is slightly reminiscent to something similar to pineapple or some kind of fruit. I also like how despite not being too too spicy, that afterwards it leaves your mouth a little on fire if enough barbeque sauce is consumed. My only suggestion is that on the barbeque pulled pork sandwiches that they start to add alot more barbeque sauce and not just only a little.
I have not yet tried the pizza, but do plan on returning to rate it once I do should my review be positive. |
